The Yuen Po Street Bird Garden, built in the style of traditional Chinese courtyards, has about 100 stalls selling caged song birds and everything it takes to maintain them. Visit in the early morning hours and you will see songbird hobbyists - mainly older Chinese gentlemen - "walking their birds" as they sit around the courtyards with their cages, but songbirds are at their best in mid-afternoon when the market is its busiest. It is a good place to shop for bamboo birdcages even if you don't have a bird.
