Named after its Vesterbro neighborhood postcode, 1656 used to be a down-at-heel pub with a questionable clientele. These days it's popular with yuppie bohemians, and has an elegant, low-key atmosphere perfect for post-dinner drinking. The cocktail menu changes seasonally, and you'll find a nice mix of old standards - Bellinis, sidecars, and martinis - with new inventions like the "Kentucky Milk," made with almonds and cinnamon. Be sure to check out the bathrooms, which have a unique soundtrack: a loop of orgasms sampled from adult movies.
