No city in Germany, with the exception maybe of Nuremberg, outdoes Munich's christmas markets, during which countless festive stands selling everything from food to gifts fill the city's main squares and trickle all throughout the city. But the main one in Marienplatz, the Christkindlmarkt, is so strong on the Christmas cheer that it will make any yule-tider weak in the knees. Grab a mug of Glühwein, stroll through all of the snow-covered stands, and take in the smells and sounds of the season.
