A historic café dating to 1844, Café Las Violetas was declared a Buenos Aires Heritage Site in 1998. Inside the curved glass doors, smartly-dressed waiters deliver sweet and savory cakes and pastries on silver trays to marble-topped tables under French-stained glass windows. Popular for afternoon tea, the café is open early and late during the week and 24 hours on weekends and also serves more substantial fare.
