Inspired by the Empire State building of NYC and built out of reinforced concrete, Prédio do Banespa, also known as the Altino Arantes Building, was inaugurated as the headquarters of the Bank of the State of São Paulo (Banespa) in 1947. For 20 years, it was the tallest building in Sao Paulo. Entrance is free, and the view from the top observation deck is breathtaking - accessible by two sets of stairs from the 33rd floor. Bring a copy of your passport.
