Davie Village is the most popular LGBTQ hangout in Vancouver, but Commercial Drive is equally well-known for having a large number of lesbian residents. Also known as "The Drive," it has over 400 shops, restaurants and small businesses - the majority of which are independently-owned and fiercely proud of their neighborhood. The Drive stretches for 21 blocks from Venables to 13th Street and is such a cool place to hang that Utne Reader named it one of the 10 hippest neighborhoods in North America.
