About 27 minutes northwest of downtown Vancouver, Horseshoe Bay is a small waterfront community with independent storefronts, art galleries and seafood restaurants. Just outside the village are a number of gentle trails that make for a nice afternoon of hiking and picnicking, and there are several sandy spots to spread out a towel.
