The intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street became one of the most famous intersections in the world during the Golden Age of Hollywood. Hedda Hopper and Louella Parsons reported gossip from the Brown Derby and Coconut Grove nightclub. Radio announcers opened programs with "broadcasting live from Hollywood and Vine." All the movie studios, Charlie Chaplin, Will Rogers and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences had offices in the 12-story Taft Building. Tinsel Town wannabes hung out on the corner. Now it has the Hollywood Walk of Fame, but mostly the neighborhood is condos.
