The Los Angeles Flower District may be the largest flower market in the US. It's worth an early morning visit even if you're not in the market for posies to see exotic blooms grown locally and get a unique flavor of the city. The district is made up of several flower markets including the Southern California Market, founded by Japanese flower growers in 1913, and the Los Angeles Flower Market, organized by European immigrants in the early 1920s. Things get going for the public as early as 6 am some days, but wholesalers get there before dawn.
