The Forge, that's never been anything else but an institution on Miami Beach, actually was a forge back in the 20s until the owner wised up and turned it into a celebrity-attracting steak-grilling restaurant and casino in the 30s. Its modern glory days began in 1968 when Alvin Malnik bought the restaurant and started building an impressive wine collection. Its reputation for fine dining, fine wines and drop-in celebrities continues into the second generation. The menu, now focusing on farm-to-table, has 2-pound Maine lobsters, Yellowfin Tuna Wellington, dry aged steaks and sides like black truffle Mac & Cheese, but fine dining is only part of The Forge experience. Just being there counts. Live music Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The Forge, West 41st Street, Miami Beach, FL, United States
