A hugely popular Cantonese joint in Chinatown, R&G Lounge serves seafood dishes--some fresh from the tank--from a large menu helpfully illustrated with pictures. The dining room has two floors: upstairs is more formal, and a favorite of visiting Chinese businessmen, while the lower level is casual and crowded with guests clamoring for Peking duck, salt-and-pepper crab and seafood chow mein. Reservations are essential, and service can sometimes be wobbly, but the place is crowded for a reason and guaranteed to satisfy. Open 11 a.m. to 9:30 pm daily.
