The Blu Royal is called the world's first design hotel, and was laid out from top to bottom by Arne Jacobsen. The famous room 606 hasn't been altered since the 1960s, and guests who are willing to pay double rate can step back into the Mad Men era for a night or two. The rest of the property has been refurbished several times, but retains plenty of mid-century details, like the "egg" chairs in the lobby and the futuristic cutlery in the dining room. The hotel is also in a great location, and many of the front-facing rooms have views of the Tivoli Gardens.
