The drawbridge at Portal de Ses Taules guarded by Roman statues and medieval walls is Dalt Vila's main entrance and couldn't be more dramatic. The main gate opens onto a cobblestone courtyard and then to Plaza de Vila, the main square. The cobbled lanes are narrow and steep, connecting terraced areas with stunning views of the island and home to spacious courtyards, chapels, romantic restaurants, tiny shops selling unusual and unique local crafts, as well as private residences of established Ibiceans. At the top is the imposing cathedral.
