Going strong for nearly half a century, the Atlanta Pride Festival is the oldest city-wide celebration of the LBGTQ* community in the region. There is a slew of events over a very short span of two days that caters to all the groups who fly the banner in the South, from transsexuals to leather daddies to church-going queers. Piedmont Park is the headquarters, though there are events at venues throughout the city.
