Sometimes called "the most sinful mile" in German, Reeperbahn is famous as the city's longtime red-light district and its impressive concentration of nightclubs, bars, restaurants and discotheques, gay and otherwise. LGBTQ visitors should head for Talstraße and Große Freiheit , streets just off Reeperbahn. The Beatles-Platz monument at Reeperbahn and Große Freiheit - a plaza paved to look like a vinyl record - recalls that it was in clubs around the Reeperbahn that the Beatles launched their career in the early 1960s in case anyone forgot.
