Zurich's old city, situated between the Bahnhofstrasse and the left bank of the Limmat is a charming collection of cobbled streets and houses dating back to the middle ages (several of which, like the Haus zum Napf, can be toured). Among the gems in this part of town are a house where Lenin lived in 1917, the Cabarert Voltaire and the park Lindenhof, once the site of a Roman encampment.
