A half-mile from Pipeline Road, Panama's top birding destination, the Panama Rainforest Discovery Center is on the edge of Soberania National Park. It has a short circuit of trails, easy to moderate, and a 100-foot (174 steps) steel canopy observation tower.Hours are Friday through Sunday from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m., other days possible with a reservation made 48 hours in advance. Fees are $30 for the premium bird-watching hours of 6 a.m. and 10 a.m.; $20 from 10 a.m. Night walks can also be arranged with a $35 per person donation.
