The Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens has plant life you can only see in South Africa. Because it is at the heart of the Cape Floristic Region - Cape Floral Kingdom, it was the first botanical garden to be named a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The gardens has three restaurants, including a unique African menu with live music at moyo Kirstenbosch. Established in 1913, the 36-hectare (89 acres) nature reserve blends into the forest of Table Mountain and is a good start or finish to a hike to the top if you're up for more than a leisurely garden stroll.
